In a recent interview on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, John Cena, well-known WWE wrestler and actor from the “Fast & Furious” franchise, shared his perspective on the absence of Dwayne Johnson in the latest installments of the saga.

Cena highlighted: “There are certainly rumors about it. I can not deny it. You have two very alpha, driven people. You have two. There can be only one”.

During the interview, John also mentioned his experience in wrestling and how he has learned to adapt to different dynamics. He said it himself:

“Bro, you have to remember that they put me in a locker room where we have generational veterans. What did your father do? He was fighting. What did your grandfather do? He fought.” I have been in that environment, I know the room and I adapt to what happens.”

And he continued: “They invite me to someone’s house, to someone’s family. And regardless of his physical appearance compared to another human being, this is an IP that has had nine installments and it is an action movie, that is rarefied air. At the very least, there has to be respect for that.”

Johnson and Diesel rivalry

The dispute between the two fighters became public in 2016 when Johnson criticized some of his co-stars on social media. Although Diesel expressed his desire for Johnson to return in a future installment, Johnson himself announced that he would not participate.

However, the situation appears to have been resolved to some extent, as Johnson made a brief appearance in a post-credits scene in the latter film, leaving open the possibility of his return in the eleventh installment.

Despite the absence of ”The Rock” in the latest films, Cena emphasized the importance of showing respect towards the saga and recognizing the legacy built over the years.

While fans may miss Johnson’s presence, John urged them to appreciate the achievement and rarity of a long-successful franchise.
