US President Joe Biden gave a speech at the White House on Thursday evening to comment the serious attack carried out outside the Kabul airport by ISIS, in which 13 American soldiers and at least 72 Afghan civilians were killed according to the latest reports. Biden celebrated the dead soldiers as “heroes” who were engaged “in a dangerous mission in a selfless manner to save the lives of others” and then, addressing the perpetrators of the attack, he said:

Biden added that the United States “will respond with force and precision in due time,” when and where they want it, and has promised to “save” all Americans who are in Afghanistan and who want to leave the country.
Biden said that, as president, he takes responsibility for “everything that happened,” but continued to defend his decision to withdraw American troops from Afghanistan: “I had only one alternative: to send thousands of other soldiers. back to Afghanistan ».
The attack hit an area just outside the Kabul airport particularly crowded with people who for days have been trying to get through the controls and gates to board one of the military aircraft engaged in the evacuation of foreigners and Afghans from Afghanistan. The attack was claimed by ISIS-K, the Afghan division of ISIS, which in recent years has been responsible for extremely violent attacks in Afghanistan, in which dozens of people were killed.
