Jim Bakkum argues for regulations: ‘It’s a shame if I hit someone’

Jim shares in his Stories that he almost hit someone ‘again’ today. ‘Because the one, completely cut off from the world, didn’t see me overtaking from the left and hung completely to the left.’ Something that, according to Jim, has happened before.

He therefore finds it crooked that people are fined for telephone use while cycling, but cycling with earphones in their ears is not prohibited. ‘I wish everyone everything, including a moment on the bike, but it would be such a shame if I hit someone because of that.’

Since Jim shared his story, he’s been getting several private messages from people who recognize the situation. For example, someone writes that his or her niece was hit by a truck while she was cycling with earphones in. ‘Three weeks coma, very serious brain injury. Crawled through the eye of the needle.’ Jim is shocked by all the stories he reads. “I sincerely hope there’s a clear rule for this.”

Currently Jim is working with Sergio Vyent, known as maître in First Datesat a theater show. The two tell more about it in the video below.
