The group of 10-15 Jews wants NRK to suspend the journalist, writes Days.
– What NRK published and which they have laid flat for and apologized for, was dehumanizing and anti-Semitic and must have consequences, writes the group’s lawyer, John Christian Elden, in an email.
In the radio program, host Shaun Henrik Matheson reached out to Israel, among other things in connection with the corona vaccine, and joked that it was almost as if he wanted the corona vaccine not to work in Israel.
Elden states that Matheson’s statements are problematic in light of the penal code’s provision on hate speech. NRK disagrees with the interpretation, and further writes that it considers the case to have been processed by NRK.
The Broadcasting Council gave NRK strong criticism for the feature. The council received over 500 complaints in connection with the broadcast.
