HAREN – In Haren on Thursday, two Stolpersteine, memorial stones for deported Jews, accidentally disappeared under a layer of tar. The stones were in the sidewalk in front of a house on the Oosterweg when a new layer of tar with gravel was poured over it. “This should not have happened,” responds a spokesman for the municipality of Groningen on Thursday. The error is immediately corrected.
