Jets – Bears (31-10): New-York s’éclate without Zach Wilson

Mike White may have won the starting job!

New York Jets (7-4) – Chicago Bears (3-9): 31-10

Zach who? Without their starting quarterback, who was benched this week, the Jets have not faltered. Better, they probably released their best offensive performance of the season.

Mike White (22/28, 315 yards, 3TD) was flawless, Garrett Wilson (5 rec, 95 yards, 2TD) excellent and Elijah Moore (2rec, 64 yards, 1TD) came back from the dead… The victory is superb for New York, but Zach Wilson’s ego will take a big hit.

In contrast, Chicago, which went into 4 games with 24+ points, has lost just 10 without its starting quarterback. Justin Fields will have a quieter Monday.

magical Mike

16/20, 235 yards and 2 TDs at halftime for Mike White! The substitute quarterback was particularly effective and led his team in points on 3 of his 5 first half series.

Beyond what he did better than Zach Wilson, White mostly gave the feeling of better “sync” with his teammates like Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore.

Rookie Wilson stood out in particular with a touchdown on the first series of the game (7-0) then a second on a 54-yard reception that then gave the Jets the lead again at this point in the game (14-10).

The locals will widen the gap (17-10) just before halftime with a 57-yard field goal.

Up front, Chicago didn’t deserve. Without Justin Fields, the Bears have a surprise time on offense thanks to substitute Trevor Siemian (14/25, 179 yards, 1TD, 1INT). The quarterback is going quite well on his first drive by bringing his to the gates of the endzone opponent but stops on an incomplete pass to Chase Claypool (2rec, 51 yards). The guests settle for a field goal (7-3).

The attack also allows his team to take the lead in the second series of the match. After several receptions by Claypool, Siemian finds the foul by connecting with Byron Pringle in the endzone for the touchdown (7-10)
The Bears end up stalling this first act with two punts in a row but Sieman is not the most guilty with a record of 8/11 for 128 yards and 1 TD at halftime.

Jets take off

Unfortunately for Chicago, the offense will carry on throughout the game at its halftime pace… The Bears chain the punt or worse, miss quarters or see Siemian intercept.

It’s quite the opposite for New York. If the defense continues unsurprisingly on its momentum, the offense also takes off.

The Jets fly out in the middle of the 3rd quarter when Mike White throws a deep pass to Elijah Moore. The receiver receives and enters the endzone for the touchdown of 24 to 10.

The final blow came on the next series with two big passes from White followed by a 32-yard run by Ty Johnson for the touchdown to make it 31-10.

Chicago doesn’t recover and lets New York win this fight easily. Did Mike White just win his starting job for the rest of the season?
