TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – PT. Transport Expeditionary Network will close JET Express after the delivery company had been operating for seven years. Without mentioning the reason, management only informed that the company’s operations would cease in March 2022.
Chairman of the Association of Express, Postal, and Shipping Service Companies logistics Indonesia (Asperindo) Mohamad Feriadi said the express delivery service business is actually still growing despite facing various challenges.
“But each company has different conditions because it depends on the business model,” said Feriadi when contacted on Thursday, January 17, 2022.
Feriadi explained, companies that have a business model business to business or B to B may not be as successful as business growth for other models. On the other hand, businesses that are in direct contact with customerlike business to customer (B to C) or customer to customer (C to C) still looks better growth.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Feriadi said the average business delivery service lightning grew below 20 percent. This growth is supported by the high demand for online shopping as well as the large number of needs for delivery of documents or packages via courier services.
In order for the express delivery service business to continue to grow as many new players emerge, Feriadi said the company needs to adapt its business model to existing conditions.
