The authors of the video explained that “for generations, Latvians have been prosperous from what the land and work provide. The main dish in all seasons has been home-baked bread. Even today, bread is as important and sacred to a Latvian as it was several hundred years ago. ”

Daiga Ģeidāne, the author of the idea, script and choreography of the video, said about the idea: “From my childhood to the present day, the unique smell of home-baked bread, which filled the whole house, has been vividly remembered.

This idea of showing the way of bread from grain to loaf has long been in me.

And this summer, hearing Inga Karpiča’s folk song “Dear Mara’s Bread Bread”, the whole way of making bread came together as pieces of a puzzle, creating a story, a picture I had dreamed of. “
