Jcome defends the “profitability” of the Omar Montes concert in Ourense, while the opposition sees “manipulation”

OURENSE, 21 (EUROPA PRESS)

Last weekend the city of Ourense hosted the concert by Omar Montes, an event that this Wednesday the mayor, Pérez Jócome, described as “one of the most profitable in the history of the city”, despite criticism from the opposition, who speak of “pufo” and “perverse manipulation”.

Precisely the municipal councilor has responded with this qualification to the criticisms made by the mayor of Ciudadanos, José Arajo, who revealed that the cache was 62,000 euros plus VAT, to which we would have to add production and concepts such as “stage, ambulances and security guards “, so that” it will amount to 92,000 euros of spending.

To this add that the only thing that could be discounted is that a total of 1,600 tickets were sold, which meant only 18,000 euros. “They are 75,000 euros of pufo”, said the councilor.

To this, Prez Jcome responded, assuring that the concert “has been one of the most profitable in the history of the city” and that the presence of the artist “contributed to promoting tourism in front of millions of people” through the media and social networks. , “bringing thermalism closer”, with the visit that Montes made to the Termas de Outariz, and gastronomy “during his visit to Campo da Feira”.

In a statement in which he breaks down the number of viewers he reached through social networks such as TikTok, Instagram or Twitter, Jcome defends that “Ourense was broadcast to a total of four million people”, and also points out that, since From an economic point of view, the city council disbursed 50,000 euros, a figure “usual for this type of national artist of medium-high pull”.

It also indicates that “of the 76,000 euros that the concert cost” 26,000 euros were financed “with tickets sold at popular prices”, guaranteeing that 2,175 of a total of 2,500 were sold, “an absolute success”.

In this sense, he has said that “financing 33% with tickets sold is a much higher ratio than the usual for the Teatro Principal or concerts held by the previous PP and PSOE governments.” All in all, he has concluded that “the most brutal thing” was “the media profitability of the publicity made to the hot springs and to Ourense’s gastronomy”, reiterating that the concert “was hyper profitable”.

“REVERSE THE CULTURAL EXTERMINATION”

The Socialist Party has positioned itself on these statements, which has denounced “the perverse manipulation of the data.” They affirm that “the only real thing” is that the concert sold only half of the tickets, 1,500, “the rest are delusions of the mayor who tries to defend excessive and unjustifiable spending.”

The Socialists join the mayor of Ciudadanos, giving 92,000 euros as the cost of the concert, with which they add that “part of the cultural extermination of Pérez Jacome could be reversed” by recovering the training activity of the Popular University, highlighting the Exhibition of Children’s Theater and returning the management of the Ourense International Theater Show.

“For 70,000 euros, the mayor eliminated all these activities,” they recall.

Thus, they have denounced that the municipal councilor “has no qualms about spending huge amounts of public money on inflated caches and nonsense with his team”, while eleven social entities “wait for a credit modification of 86,000 euros to help people with disabilities” .
