Javier Milei Interview on Quarta Repubblica: Against the State and Socialism

Javier Milei closed his international tour with an interview celebrating his political profile given by journalist Nicola Porro on one of the media empire channels founded by Silvio Berlusconi.

Milei is perceived as an ally by the political and media system that supports the current right-wing government headed by Giorgia Meloni. In the interview with the Quarta Repubblica program, he did not disappoint. “I am president to overcome the status quo that is corrupt politicians,” he said and defined himself as “anarcho-capitalist.”

The interview broadcast this Monday was recorded on Sunday night, after Milei participated in the canonization ceremony of Mama Antula in the Vatican. “I feel a deep contempt for the State. I believe that the State is a criminal association,” she stated, returning to the anarcho-capitalist role that she exhibited in her speech in Davos.

“In fact, the State is a criminal association where a group of politicians agree and use the monopoly of wealth to steal resources from the private sector,” he added, to the celebration of the driver.

As he did in Davos, Milei again took aim at socialism, which he described as a “disease of the soul”: “Pure socialism was defeated by economic theory. I thought it was a problem of a mental nature, but I realized that “It was something much worse. When applied correctly, it murdered more than 6 million human beings.”

The State is a criminal association where a group of politicians agree and use the monopoly of wealth to steal resources from the private sector.

He also paraphrased Oppenheimer when he said that “the method used in the market is investment, trade, and the method of the State is precisely theft, and therefore the State is not only the largest criminal organization in the world, but also the biggest stationary thief in the world. He gave as an example that “a thief attacks from time to time, but every time you go to buy something in a place, the State is stealing from you through taxes; therefore, the State steals from you all the days.”

The Pope affectionately received Milei and made him emotional: “You cut your hair”

The program’s promotion announced it like this: “Quarta Repubblica has a gift for you. It comes from the American continent, He was seen walking with a chainsaw, he has many dogs, he has the habit of calling himself an anarcholiberal and hating statism and any form of socialism. This is Javier Milei, the new Argentine president who came to power thanks to ‘Afuera’.”

In another part of the interview, Milei acknowledged that he had to “reconsider some positions” about the Pope whom he once again defined as the most important Argentine in history.

After the good harmony they showed this Sunday, the formal meeting between Milei and the Pope this Monday maintained a cordial tone. The meeting alone lasted about an hour and in all the photos the Supreme Pontiff can be seen smiling and quite comfortable.

After that time, the delegation entered to exchange gifts with political touches: Milei gave him a handwritten letter from Jose María Gutierrez crediting Juan Bautista Alberdi as representative in Europe, a painting of Mama Antula, a rag ball made by the boys from Scholas del Barrio 31, alfajores and lemon cookies. Francis, for his part, gave him a bronze medallion inspired by the Baldachin of Saint Peter, the volumes of papal documents and this year’s Message for Peace.

After the meeting, he met with Giorgia Meloni, with whom he agreed on the need to “start a new stage” in the bilateral relationship and to generate greater confidence for investors.

Through social networks, Meloni highlighted the “positive meeting in which we discussed the development of new associations in key sectors for our economies such as energy, infrastructure and the agri-food sector” together with Milei.
