Jason’s amazing underwater sculpture …

British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, 40, is known for his gigantic concrete statues placed at the bottom of the sea. A work that is both artistic and ecological, because its sculptures allow fauna and flora (coral) to settle there and shelter there, reports espacebuzz on its site.

His latest achievement, a young girl who kneels on the ground and seems to carry the world on her back, has just been immersed near the coast of Nassau, in the Bahamas. With a size of 5.5 m and a weight of around 60 tonnes, “Ocean Atlas” is the largest underwater sculpture created by Jason deCaires.
