“It went up very strongly from the first ascent of the Lantilly coast, it was really hard. The deviations were made directly. In the ribs, I have a little trouble because I’m a little heavier than the others. Jarno Widar was strong, he went solo on the last lap. Behind, we could not follow him. I was hanging on, I knew I had a good burst of speed for the sprint. We come to six. Gabriel Berg launched, I was in his wheel. I produced my effort at 150 meters and it did. I am very happy with my weekend. I’m just a little disappointed with the first stage where we missed each other with the colleagues. For the general, it was dead given the delay.

A week after Paris-Roubaix, I still have good feelings. I’m going to cut a week off to get back in better shape for the next goals. I plan to resume racing in early May. The next Coupe de France is the Chrono 47 (April 30, editor’s note). I don’t know if I do yet. The general classification of the Coupe de France is not necessarily an objective because then there is the Classique des Alpes which does not suit me”.

2nd overall at 8″ and best J1

“It was a hard day, especially the climb in the final circuit. I missed the leading group, I finished at the back of the second group. It’s really cool to finish on the overall podium and wear the white jersey. I can be proud. This is my best result this year. I haven’t run much. I finished 7th in the Tour du Bocage and the Ernée 53. There, I’m 2nd, I’m progressing.

Next weekend, I will be at the Borsele event in the Netherlands. Then I will participate in the E3 Saxo Classic and the Grand Prix Bob Jungels. I start well in the Juniors. I hope to get good results in the next races. I’m not a good sprinter, but I manage in time. I prefer short climbs. I started cycling at the age of 12. I live in North Holland”.
