TOKYO, March 9, WAM/ Japanese stock indices rose at the close of trading today, continuing their gains for the fifth consecutive session, reaching their highest levels since mid-September.
The Nikkei index on the Tokyo Stock Exchange increased by 0.63%, equivalent to 178.9 points, to close at 28,623.15 points.
The broader Topix index increased by 0.97%, equivalent to 19.88 points, to close at 2071.09 points.
