Japanese motorcade brings PM Shinzo Abe back to the hospital, what’s wrong? All pages

TOKYO, KOMPAS.com – A motorcade carries the Prime Minister Japan Shinzo Abe enter a hospital on Monday (24/8/2020).

This has sparked public concern over the health of Japan’s longest-serving prime minister Reuters.

Local media, citing government sources, reported Abe will receive the results of his medical examination a week ago.

“This time to hear the results of the medical examination,” an unnamed government official told the newspaper Yomiuri.

Last week, Abe underwent a checkup which lasted seven and a half hours which sparked concerns about his health Reuters.

Dozens of reporters watched as a black sedan with white curtains carrying Abe in the backseat arrived at the hospital.

Abe once resigned because he suffered from chronic ulcerative colitis (intestinal tract) in 2007.

But Abe returned to power and returned to office prime minister of Japan in 2012.

Last week Abe, who suddenly came to the hospital, sparked speculation in the local media about his health.

Previously, Abe was discharged from the hospital at Keio University Hospital Tokyo, after being examined for more than seven hours on Monday (17/8/2020) last week.

A report from the weekly magazine in July claimed that Abe vomited blood AFP.

However, Japanese Government Spokesman Yoshihide Suga insisted that Abe was in good health.

When he was admitted to the hospital, Abe’s health was discussed again because he was reluctant to hold a press conference.

On Wednesday (19/8/2020) last week, Abe told reporters that he was ready to resume his duties.

Abe receives routine checkups twice a year with the last examination taking place on June 13.

News agency Kyodo reported that Abe’s visit last week was a follow-up to June’s examination, citing hospital sources.
