Undisputed leader of the Rockets, James Harden is still debated with his very offensive and individual game. In a recent ESPN discussion, Max Kellerman even takes him out of the top 5 players in the league, and explains.
James Harden is a rather busy man at the moment. Despite the confinement, the Bearded man trains like a madman, evidenced by this image where we can see his enormous physical transformation. Not sure if he stays like that for the resumption of the season, but it’s impressive.
That says a lot about the motivation behind. The latter is aware of the expectations around the Rockets for the end of the year, given that he clearly has no room for error.
Harden was precisely at the heart of a recent debate on ESPN, and rather interesting: is he a top 5 player in the NBA currently? If Stephen A. Smith is in favor, Max Kellerman goes the other way:
I can name 5 guys who are better than Harden, and there are a few others we can talk about. But first of all, Kawhi is much better than James Harden, there is no debate about it. When Kawhi goes to a team, we say that she will play the title. Harden has had good teams for a large majority of his career. For a year, it was thought that Houston would win the title with Mike D’Antoni’s systems, then Harden had a disastrous playoff performance.

It’s not hard to find 5, so Harden is not in there. We can debate Anthony Davis, or even Luka Doncic, but these 5 guys are certainly better than James Harden.
A clear opinion on the subject from Kellerman. Whether he agrees with him or not, his explanation holds water, but there is nothing particularly wrong with being behind the players mentioned. We are talking about real stars, even if some will want to debate with the placement of Steph Curry, for example.
James Harden out of the top 5 best players in the league? Nothing crazy about it. It must be said that competition is fierce in the NBA.
