What happens with the Justice League movie? It seems that the latest comments from James Gunn are not exactly very positive.
James Gunn Isn’t Happy With Justice League. After the announcement of an animated film of the entire group of superheroes within the DC Universe label and titled Crisis on Infinite Earths, the executive president of DC Studios has come to the fore to clarify an error made in this confirmation. An error that does not satisfy him at all, but that he hopes to correct over the next few months.
When asked directly in Threads If the two new Justice League animated movies are part of James Gunn’s new DC Universe, the director simply answered: “No.” The filmmaker went on to publicly acknowledge that “we have screwed up” and also said that that wrong ad on social media has been “corrected”. The original Twitter announcements, which took place during San Diego Comic Con, have since been deleted.. As you can see, he was not at all happy with what happened. But at least the confusion has been corrected in time.
It makes a lot of sense that he wasn’t happy with the ad.

However, It should come as no surprise that this Justice League labeling was a mistake.. Why would James Gunn start his new DC Comics reboot with an animated adaptation of one of the biggest events in the publisher’s history? All before even introducing any of his sprawling cast from the DC Universe, including his own Superman: Legacy movie and the new Batman movie reboot.
After all, James Gunn has already revealed how the new DC Universe will begin. Animated series Creature Commandos will premiere on HBO Max next year, while Amanda Waller’s live-action series will hit the small screen before Superman: Legacy hits theaters in the summer of 2025.
