The Argentine national team managed to qualify for the semi-finals after beating the Brazilian national team with a score of 3-0.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Former Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan is grateful that the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) can finally be used as a venue for professional football matches. PSSI in the era Erick Thohir submit HE as one of the arenas for the U-17 World Cup.

“I am very happy that this is being used for its intended purpose. To be a venue for international football matches, we can all enjoy it,” said Anies at JIS, Friday (24/11/2023).

Anies did not want to answer the reasons why JIS could finally be used as a football match venue, until the end PSSI Erick Thohir’s leadership era was able to transform it into one of the venues for the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

“If that’s the case, please ask the organizers. But the important thing is that Indonesia has (an international standard stadium). And this can be used for a long time, we pray that more events can be held here. Because it can bring a good name to Indonesia ,” he said.

As is known, JIS is one of the venues for the 2023 U-17 World Cup along with Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya), Manahan Stadium (Solo) and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung Regency). JIS itself is the venue for the matches of two groups, namely Group C and Group E.

However, since the tournament started on November 10 2023, Anies came directly to the stadium for the first time to watch the quarter-final between Argentina U-17 vs Brazil U-17. The match was won by Argentina through Claudio Echeverri’s hat trick (28′, 58′, 71′).

“I’ve been a fan of Brazil since I was little. I wanted Brazil to win, or lose,” he said.

The Indonesian U-17 World Cup will take place from 10 November to 2 December 2023. Immediately buy and get official tickets to the U-17 World Cup matches in Jakarta, Bandung, Solo and Surabaya
