Jagiellonia issued a statement on the would-be director

Artur Płatek will not become the sports director of Jagiellonia. The interested person himself commented on this topic on the official website of the club in Białystok.

A few days ago, the chairman of the supervisory board Jagiellonia Wojciech Strzałkowski on Radio Białystok spoke about his willingness to hire the former director and advisor to the management board of Górnik Zabrze. The club was supposed to negotiate with Płatek. This was to give the final answer after returning to Poland. It was speculated then that his decision might be made even at the beginning of February. Ultimately, the 51-year-old thanked the Duma of Podlasie now.

There’s no time

Jagiellonia will always be a special and important club for me. The amount of time I believe is a sporting director is far beyond my current abilities. You have to do 100% of this task. I would not like to disappoint the expectations of the entire community of fans and the club’s shareholders, hence my decision. Thank you for the offer, he said Petal, quoted on the website jagiellonia.pl.

Let us remind you that Artur Płatek was Jaga’s first coach in 2007-2008. Recently, from December 2018 to November 2, 2021, he was the coordinator of the sports division in Górnik Zabrze. This was officially called its function. Unofficially, he was the sports director and advisor to the board of Zabrze.

The second candidate has already thanked him

All the time, Płatek is also a scout for Borussia Dortmund. He has been looking for players for the German tycoon since December 2012.

In the context of employment as a sports director in Jagiellonia, the names of Jacek Zieliński and Łukasz Masłowski were also present. The first since the end of December has played such a role in Legia Warszawa and previously thanked the Białystok residents, and Masłowski is still available for the taking.
