The legendary pop singer will be played by Jackson’s own nephew, 27-year-old Jafar Jackson, who is the son of Jermaine Jackson.
“It’s incredibly exciting to watch Jafar bring Michael to life,” director Antoine Fuqua told Variety.
“I felt such a strong spiritual connection when I first met Jafar. He has a natural ability to impersonate Michael and is great in front of the camera.”
In the upcoming film, Jafar will be joined by some other big stars, including Oscar nominee Coleman Domingo, who will portray the father of the Jackson family, Joe Jackson.

The leading lady of the Jackson family, Michael’s mother Kathryn Jackson, will be played by Nia Long, who called her character “an incredible pillar of strength and grace for the entire Jackson family.”

Among the other actors in the film, Miles Teller has also been announced, who will portray Michael’s manager, John Branca.
