Amsterdam – Wasn’t Westerbork a neat transit camp? Albert Gemmeker doesn’t see the problem like that. “I never got any complaints about it,” said the German SS man in Assen prison, during an interrogation that was going to be very confrontational. “Maybe because no one ever came back,” he is bitten from across the table.
