-The Latvian electricity transmission system operator AS Augstsprieguma tīkls (AST) has submitted a new electricity transmission system tariff to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) for approval, which has been developed in accordance with the new methodology approved by PUC in June this year. AST has achieved a reduction in the cost of providing the service of EUR 1.5 million per year, or 2%. This has been done this year by implementing the reform led by the Minister of Finance – transferring power transmission lines, substations and distribution points from JSC Latvijas elektriskie tīkli to the Transmission System Operator, as well as introducing other measures of AST efficiency plan.
