SOE Minister Erick Thohir stated that his party was ready to intervene in the market to reduce the price of COVID-19 therapeutic drugs. This is a response to the scarcity of stock and the high price of Ivermectin in online stores which reaches Rp 800 thousand.
Erick said that his party was ready to double the production capacity of the drug.
“Ivermectin is everywhere, online there is a price of up to Rp 800 thousand, even though the price is here in pharmacies, especially Kimia Farma, the price is Rp 7,500-7,800, this is a long way off. And I assure you if there is a game We intervene in the market again, we are ready,” said Erick at Kimia Farma Matraman pharmacy, Monday (5/7/2021).
“This is Indofarma, in the same meeting with me, its capacity is ready to be doubled, yesterday when it was 4.5 million I asked the President Director to double it to 8 million,” he added.
If that’s not enough, Erick will again increase the capacity. He said the drug would be added from Kimia Farma’s supply.
“If there are still people who dare to play again, I have prepared Kimia Farma, it can be 16 million. So 24 million per month we will flood it. So that the people could access cheap drugs. We are doing Indofarma distribution network, Kimia Farma we have a clinic, we have a hospital, that’s what we want to do. We want to make sure the state is present,” he said.
Erick Thohir himself conducted inspections at three Kimia Farma Jakarta pharmacies this afternoon. This step is to ensure the availability of Corona therapy drugs and vitamins for the community.
“And the most important thing is not that, the price. Because we know that there are a lot of prices circulating in the field, yes, I’ll be honest, what’s the point, I’m hit, sad too, angry too, why when people are in need, and this has often happened If we remember that at the beginning of 2020, masks were like that, PPE, now therapeutic drugs are repeated again,” he said.
