I avoid writing about deceased people I knew or were friends with. Many acquaintances and friends appear then. But now, to my surprise, how weakly the death of Mikis Theodorakis was reflected in our country. What do they know about him in our country – a Greek composer, author of the music in the movie “Zorba the Greek”, the journalist Ivan Garelov wrote with sadness in his personal profile on social networks.

Theodorakis is a world figure who conquered the planet with his music, a participant in the resistance against the occupiers, the fascists, the dictatorship. He made the cause of the Greek people close to all people.
His height was titanium, called to conduct his orchestra in stadiums around the world. He had entered the history of mankind during his lifetime. Therefore, people were surprised if they met him or read about his manifestations. He was sentenced to immortality.
We once visited his villa on the shores of the Gulf of Corinth.
He offered us a boat trip around the bay. When we went ashore, his daughter appeared and started shouting loudly. Unfortunately, we have to go back, he said. His daughter had a mental problem and was afraid to be left alone.
We left embarrassed. I couldn’t believe that such a person could have personal problems. Like the Greek gods, he was immortal, but possessed all human weaknesses and problems.
He must have wished to play sirtaki at his funeral in Crete, like his hero Zorbas.
