Deputy Sports Director of Zenith Vyacheslav Malafeev left the St. Petersburg club.

“It’s time to move on. What associations arise when you hear the number 25? Some will say – youth, carelessness, all life ahead. Others – a silver wedding, a long journey, a long period of time.

I have Zenit. I am 41 years old, and I spent more than half my life in this club. In 1995 he entered into the first contract. Since 1999 I have been playing in the first team, and for the last three years I have been working as a sports manager.

Turning back, I reason as a spouse with 25 years of experience. Behind a lot of ups and downs, joy and sadness, there are good and bad moments, mistakes and experience.

Looking forward, I turn into a young man who boldly looks to the future. He knows that 25 years of his life have been passed for a reason, there is a lot of interesting and promising ahead.

The past remains the past. The future will inevitably come. In the present I want to thank everyone who made it possible to prove themselves in a new business. I am grateful that I participated in the life of my beloved club, I was able to contribute to the development of youth football and the main team!

I am grateful to the management, colleagues, football players and Zenit fans for their understanding and support. It’s time to get new knowledge and experience.

See you, Zenit! ” – wrote Malafeev on Instagram.

Malafeev played for Zenit from 1999 to 2016. As part of the blue-white-blue goalkeeper, he became the four-time champion of Russia (2007, 2010, 2012, 2015), the three-time winner of the Russian Cup (1999, 2010, 2016), the owner of the UEFA Cup and Super Cup (2008).

Malafeev – about the match with Bayern: if he played for zero, it would be a game for life
