It’s still hard for Gary Neville to say Arsenal will win

London

Arsenal still not completely unstoppable at Premier League. Temporary The Gunners starting to be more championed champion, Gary Neville still in doubt.

Arsenal continued their Premier League championship campaign with a 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur, Sunday (15/1/2023) evening WIB. A Hugo Lloris own goal and a Martin Odegaard goal ensured the London Cannon won the north London derby.

The result confirmed Arsenal at the top of the Premier League standings with 47 points from 18 matches. They are already eight points ahead of Manchester City who are the closest rivals.

The view that Arsenal will be champions continues to strengthen as the gap with Man City builds up. However, former MU captain Gary Neville is still reluctant to mention Arsenal as the strongest candidate for the championship, even though he wants them to win more than Man City.

“Not sure. But I said Leicester won’t win either. They (Arsenal) won’t win the league. Manchester City will win and I think Man United will finish second, and I know that will upset Arsenal fans,” said Neville told Sky Sports.

“I want Arsenal to win more than Man City. I think that would be sensational for the Premier League.”

“Watching the Premier League, we’ve seen City sweep the title, apart from Liverpool, in the last five seasons. To think Arsenal can win it, it makes our league good, it makes our league good,” he added.

Gary Neville, who is now a Sky Sports analyst, thinks that Manchester City can still catch up with Arsenal. When City click again, Pep Guardiola’s troops will be very difficult to contain.

“The reality is, I think at one point Man City will accelerate. When they do, they have to face Arsenal twice,” he continued.

“With City, is Erling Haaland not getting serve, or does he need to do more? That’s my question. Does he need to try more, or does he just need to be patient?”

“If Erling Haalan starts to be successful again, if City start to progress, if their defense starts to stand out a bit more than they have so far, and they need Ruben Dias back, I think City will win,” concluded Gary Neville.
