The artist, Aida Fahmy, collapsed in tears during the funeral of her brother, the artist, Sami Fahmy, at Alexandria’s Al-Omari Mosque.
Aida said, during her brother’s funeral: “Thank you for every need and for your presence, and console me in my father, this is my father, not my brother, and praise God, all these nations have prayed for you, Sami .”
And he added: “The press wrote the news wrong. Two writers, the artist Sami Fahmy and his sister, are dead. I am his sister. Why do they write like this? You are forbidden. Correct the news”.
Numerous news websites and social media pages covered the news of artist Sami Fahmy’s death with the headline “The death of artist Sami Fahmy and his sister Aida Fahmy”, which sparked his anger at what is been widespread.
Yesterday morning, Sunday 13 November, the great artist Sami Fahmy left our world and his sister, the artist Aida Fahmy, called him through her personal Facebook account and wrote to him: “My brother, Sami Fahmy.. . survival is for God.”
It is worth noting that Sami Fahmy participated in a large number of artworks with big stars of art in her early years, including the show “Entry in Official Clothes” with artist Suhair Al-Bably, l artist Esaad Younes and artist Abu Bakr Ezzat, and also participated in “Burj Al-Zaht” series with artist Mohamed Awad, “Aggression with” artist Hussein Fahmy, Al-Ayyam series with artist Ahmed Zaki, before traveling and living outside Egypt for a long time.
