Italy Announces Shadow Squad for Euro 2020

Florence

Roberto Mancini announced the shadow squad Italian national team for European Cup 2020. 33 names have been called by the former Inter Milan coach.

The 2020 European Cup, which was delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be held starting on June 11. Italy has started to prepare itself for this event.

Gli Azzurri announced that they had called 33 names of players who were included in Gli Azzurri’s shadow squad for the 2021 European Cup. Of the 33 names, there were no Jorginho and Emerson Palmieri who had not been called up because they still had to defend Chelsea in the Champions League final.

Italy will start training camp at Coverciano on May 24. Four days later they will hold a test match against San Marino at the Sardegna Arena.

Of the 33 names, they will be reduced to 26 names of players who will be registered as the Italy squad at the 2020 European Cup. The 26 names of these players will be announced before June 1, which is the deadline for registration for the Euro 2020 squad.

Italy at the 2020 European Cup finals will be joined in Group A. The group is quite tough because Roberto Mancini’s troops have to compete with Turkey, Wales and Switzerland.

Italy carries a mission to end its fasting for the title at the European Cup for more than 50 years. The last time, the Country of Pizza became the best in Europe was at Euro 1968.
