Italian voice actor confirms Splinter Cell returns

Our prayers were heard

Every year Ubisoft comes with a new reveal, and every time the gaming community hopes that the name will be called ‘Splinter Cell’. And not as a mobile game or cameo in a Tom Clancy game, but as a fully-fledged Splinter Cell game.

It seems like a new Splinter Cell game has been in the air for years, but Ubisoft keeps its lips shut. Fortunately, other people are looser, like Luca Ward, the Italian voice actor who played Sam Fisher in the Italian dubs of four major Splinter Cell games. The actor spoke to Multiplayer.it where he says frankly that he “knows with certainty that Splinter Cell makes a return.” According to him, the game should have been released this year, but – presumably because of the corona virus – the game was moved.

“There would be a return from Splinter Cell that would be a closing episode, but I’m not quite sure about that part,” said Luca Ward. “They have not yet decided whether they will do it in 2021. It was originally scheduled to release in 2020, but then COVID-19 happened and several major projects were delayed. Others went on, like Cyberpunk 2077, where my work is almost finished. But I’m sure Splinter Cell will return, that’s a fact. ”

During Ubisoft Forward, Splinter Cell was not directly mentioned, but Sam Fisher will appear in a new mobile game. It’s about Tom Clancy’s Elite Squad, an action RPG for mobile devices. Obviously, fans were not satisfied with this ‘return’ of the iconic stealth hero, so the news of a new full-fledged Splinter Cell game is ointment on the wound.
