Italian PM Orders Payment of Debts by Naughty Tourists

Italia confronted with naughty tourists who destroy historical sites. But now Italy is embarrassed, its citizens flee leaving debts on vacation.

Reported from BBC On Saturday (19/8), Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni just received a visit from Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. While talking, the Albanian PM confided in the behavior of Italian tourists.

Some time ago, there were four Italian tourists who vacationed there. They ate at the Dine and Dash restaurant. Somehow the story, the four tourists fled without paying the bill.

Their behavior made headlines in both countries.

The Italian PM, who was awkward with this conversation, immediately ordered his ambassador to pay off the debts of the four citizens.

“Quickly pay off the debts of those idiots,” said Meloni.

The Italian embassy in Albania confirmed in a statement that Italy had paid a bill of 80 A euros or around Rp 1.3 million.

“Italian people respect the rules and pay off their debts and we hope that this incident will not happen again,” said the Italian embassy.

Italy revealed that the settlement of this debt became one of Italy’s ‘diplomacy’. The news of the repayment of this debt also reached the Minister of Agriculture of Italy Francesco Lollobrigida. The payment was considered a proud act.

“A few dishonest people can bring shame to a nation with good people,” he said.

It is unclear when this incident occurred. But according to the restaurant’s CCTV footage, the group of tourists came out of the restaurant and wandered around at night.

The restaurant owner told TV Report Albania that this was the first time a customer had left his restaurant without paying. Surprisingly, the four Italian tourists praised the restaurant’s food.
