After being eliminated in the round of 16 of the French Cup against Marseille, PSG also lost in the league. Golovin opened the score of the match in the fourth minute. 14 minutes later, the visitors’ young defender Bitshiaba made a mistake in the play which was punished by Ben Yedder and Monaco were already two goals ahead.
In the 39th minute, 16-year-old Zaire-Emery headed into an empty net after Bernat’s cross, but Monaco responded before the end of the half. Ben Yedder scored for the fourteenth time this year and together with Balogun from Reims leads the scorers’ table.
Paris Saint-Germain remain top with a five-point lead over Marseille, who beat Clermont 2-0 in a late game. The game started almost an hour later compared to the original schedule due to incidents around the stadium. The police intervened against the rioters with the help of tear gas.
