Jakarta, IDN Times – Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/CDC) The United States (US) proposes that people who are exposed to COVID-19 without symptoms (People Without Symptoms) do not need to self-quarantine after being vaccinated.
The discourse arose after the vaccine was proven to be able to prevent the appearance of symptoms of the corona virus, which is thought to play a greater role in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 compared to sufferers of COVID-19 without symptoms.
“The individual and social benefits of avoiding unnecessary quarantine are likely to outweigh the potential for unknown transmission (among vaccinated individuals),” the CDC said as reported. Reuters, Friday (12/2/2021).

There are three criteria that must be met so that people who are exposed to the corona virus are free to move, namely:
Have been vaccinated twice.
Have been exposed to COVID-19 at least two weeks since the last vaccination.
Asymptomatic or asymptomatic.
“People who have been fully vaccinated are asked to pay attention to the symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days, although they do not have to quarantine them. If they show symptoms, they must be examined clinically, including testing for COVID-19,” continued the CDC statement.

Another option the CDC recommends is shortening the quarantine period. If they are exposed to COVID-19 but don’t show symptoms, self-isolation can be shortened to 10 days or to seven days.
Although, the CDC proposal is not yet a policy recommendation to the government, so they have more data and vaccinations.
“I think the CDC idea makes sense. I predict that as more evidence of the benefits of vaccines grows, we will see more modifications to public health guidelines for those who have been vaccinated, “said Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security researcher Amesh A Adalja. Healio.

US health authorities have authorized emergency use of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. Johnson & Johnson is awaiting approval from health authorities. As of Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at least 65,972,575 vaccines have been distributed throughout the states of Uncle Sam’s country.
In an effort to speed up vaccination, the government on January 12, 2021 began encouraging states to start vaccinating all residents 65 and over, along with those aged 16 and over with certain medical conditions. If those directions are implemented, vaccinations could touch more than a third of the US population.
