Snow, ice, squalls lead to a slowdown in motorway traffic in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and near Lyon.
Snow and rain have been coming for two days in the Lyon region and more widely in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Already complicated in the central massif and in the Rhône valley, traffic on the motorway is getting a little more complicated at the end of the morning on the Isère side.
Thus, heavy goods vehicles are now prohibited from driving on the A48 in Isère. To reach Grenoble or Lyon, they must take the A41 and A43 and go through Chambéry. Salting operations are underway on the A48, causing slowdowns behind the snow plows. Still in Isère, traffic is heavy around Grenoble, on the A480.

The A75 west of Clermont-Ferrand is also prohibited for heavy goods vehicles. South of Lyon, the Rhône valley is now mainly subject to difficulties linked to strong winds, with gusts of up to 100 km/h.
