New York City hosts the exhibition of award-winning photographs at the international photography competition, Istanbul Photo Awards 2021, organized by the Anadolu Agency (AA).
The Permanent Representative of Turkey to the United Nations, Feridun Sinirlioglu, who participated in the opening of the exhibition, noted that this is the first cultural event organized under the roof of the recently inaugurated Turkish House.

Sinirlioglu added that some other images reflect creativity and willpower.

AA Deputy Director General Oguz Enis Peru mentioned the work of photographer Mohammed Shajahan titled “Mom Love” which received the “Photo of the Year” award and said: “It is a epic summary of the Covid-19 pandemic which began in 2019 and which has impacted the lives of all. “
Peru claimed that the winners of the competition gave insight into the locations of conflicts, wars and natural disasters in countries such as Azerbaijan, Syria and Lebanon through their photographs.
“We believe that photos have the power to reach all borders and as Anadolu Agency we attach great importance to photography,” he noted.
He also recalled that this is the seventh edition of the competition, adding that this year, photographers from 96 different nationalities participated in the competition with 15,000 works.
The Istanbul Photo Awards exhibition can be visited between 20 and 29 October at the United Nations headquarters.
Finally, the exhibition is sponsored by the Turkish airline, Turkish Airlines, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA).
