Israel’s Helmet Aid Infuriates Ukraine

Instead of being happy because they get help from other countries, Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevgen Korniychuk, even annoyed. He was annoyed because he was not happy with the helmet Israel gave him.

Reported Reuters, Tuesday (8/3/2022), Israel provided ‘defensive assistance’ to Ukraine in resisting the Russian invasion. The aid provided by Israel is a protective helmet.

While wearing the protective helmet that Israel gave to Ukraine, Korniychuk made a statement questioning the helmet that Israel gave him.

“Please tell me, how can you kill with this thing? It’s obviously impossible. So I don’t know what these people are afraid of. To provide personal security for Ukrainians… that’s the simplest thing they can do.” Korniychuk told local reporters.

Even so, Korniychuk also thanked Israel for its efforts to mediate between Ukraine and Russia. He called this kind of mediation effort beyond the possibility of any military assistance.

“This is much more important than, for example, the sale of arms or ammunition, and so on, which we are still fighting with the Israeli government,” Korniychuk said, noting that Ukraine understands Bennett’s limitations on aid issues.
