Israel has launched airstrikes on targets in neighboring Lebanon in response to shelling from Lebanese territory. According to the Israeli army, several missile launch sites were the target.
Three rockets were fired at Israel from southern Lebanon yesterday. No injuries were reported, according to the Israeli Red Cross, but the rockets did cause serious fires. Israel responded immediately with artillery fire.
The attacks from Lebanon have not been claimed. According to international news agencies, the missiles were fired from Lebanese territory controlled by the militant Hezbollah movement, which is backed by Iran.
‘Warning’
