Israel Hamas War: Big impact of war on this industrial city of Uttar Pradesh, loss of crores may occur

Vishal Jha/Ghaziabad: Due to this ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, Indian industrial units are also being affected. Ghaziabad of Uttar Pradesh has been recognized as an industrial city. Ghaziabad has become an industry hub in the last few years. Now there is concern in this district adjacent to Delhi. Actually, there are many industrial units whose raw material comes from Israel and the final material is exported.

If this war continues for a long time, the employment of thousands of people working in industrial units may also be in danger. For more information on all these things, News 18 Local spoke to Arun Sharma, President of Ghaziabad Industry Federation.

Loss worth crores to these units
Arun Sharma told that there are 35 thousand units in Ghaziabad. When this happened two-three days after the war started, there was no effect. But now there is an atmosphere of fear in the industry. Exports have been affected to a large extent. The countries from where the goods came and went ahead after processing, stopped taking the goods. The chemical industry and readymade garments are being directly and indirectly affected. Exports worth Rs 100 crore have been affected this week. Due to this, all the orders coming from other countries for the next week have been cancelled.

Other countries refused to send goods
The domestic industry of Ghaziabad deals in domestic sales. It will not be affected even if a long war continues. But whoever is exporting will be affected. Due to this war, other countries have also refused to accept the goods, due to which the problem is increasing. Ghaziabad district is the highest GST paying district in Uttar Pradesh. Ghaziabad gives Rs 8 lakh crore per month as GST to the Uttar Pradesh government. If this war continues for a long time, if the exporters stop the night shift, then the GDP will also be affected and the tax collection will also be very less.

Arab countries stopped orders
Ravi Jain, who exports from Ghaziabad, said that if this war does not stop soon, it will have a huge impact on the units of Ghaziabad and Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, the export orders have reduced considerably. We send orders to Dubai, Qatar, Arab countries. But we are not getting any input from there right now. There is a lot of export of Indian products, machines, petro-chemicals etc. from Ghaziabad.
