Riyadh –
Radical group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) calls on its supporters to launch attacks on the territory Saudi Arabia. Specifically, the ISIS spokesperson asked its supporters to target the Westerners, oil pipelines and the existing economic infrastructure in Arabia.
“The targets are many … Start by attacking and destroying oil pipelines, factories and facilities that are the source of (revenue) for the tyrant government,” said ISIS spokesman Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, as reported Reuters, Monday (19/10/2020).
The appeal was conveyed through recorded speeches circulating via the official ISIS telegram channel.
The ISIS spokesman also mentioned that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia supports normalization of relations with Israel by opening its airspace to Israeli flights to neighboring Gulf countries.
The threat comes as Bahrain followed in the United Arab Emirates’ lead last month, agreeing to normalize relations with Israel.
Saudi Arabia, the world’s biggest oil exporter, has stressed the need to step up efforts to reach a long-lasting and sustainable peace agreement between Palestine and Israel.
