Is your parole request still pending? US Embassy in Cuba clarifies possible errors

The United States Embassy in Havana has begun to publish some of the most frequent mistakes humanitarian parole applicants make when filing an I-134A form.

The diplomatic headquarters reiterated that the petitioners cannot present more than one form I-134A in the name of the same beneficiary. “USCIS does not accept a duplicate form I-134A if there is already another pending,” they announced this Wednesday.

They also recommend monitoring the status of the I-134A forms filed in USCIS online accounts, although “USCIS cannot provide additional information on the most recent status, in addition to what they already have available,” they warn.

At this point they added that the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services only accepts an inquiry if the Form I-131A submitted on behalf of a beneficiary has been pending for more than six months.

This includes inquiries submitted through the secure mailbox of your USCIS online account, the embassy points out through its official channels.

“Please keep in mind that this is a standard deadline to submit a query and you do not necessarily have to wait for a decision on your Form I-134A during that deadline,” they specified in the message published this July 12.

“There are already 182 days waiting”, “give priority to the people of January, there are already many days of anguish” and “we are a family of four sponsored waiting since January 20”, were some of the comments in the post of the diplomatic headquarters.

As is known, since last May a new system for reviewing humanitarian parole requests has been implemented that combines the Chronological and random processing. That is why many Cubans request a return to the initial system, according to the date on which they sent their requests, considering it unfair.

“This Biden government program filled those of us who have been waiting for the Family Reunification Program for more than 6 years with hope. We thought that it would be the solution to so many years of waiting and unfulfilled promises, most of us applied in January and there we are, we continue to wait for the promised chronological order that we have not yet seen materialized,” said another affected person.
