“There is no direct relationship between prostate cancer and the inability to have an erection,” said dr. Agus, in the detikcom eLife program (05/11/2021).

He added that there are some special conditions that can cause erectile dysfunction experienced by prostate cancer patients, but it is not directly related to the disease.

“There are several actions that can cause erectile dysfunction. For example, advanced stage prostate cancer that has spread to the nerves and must be operated on (cut) the nerves can cause erectile dysfunction. Then, drugs for advanced prostate cancer can suppress the testosterone hormone so libido men are decreasing,” he added.
