I have also received the honor from the Tunisian Ministry of Culture. In fact, I see that honoring makes the artist feel appreciated for the effort he put into his work, and the matter of honoring is not easy at all, and therefore this honor has made me happy, because honoring from outside Egypt has a special meaning. So I thank the direction of the festival, because what happened is a tribute to Egyptian art.This award is dedicated to Egyptian art and cinema, and I hope that the film industry returns with its strength to the Middle East, and the first recognition I received in my artistic career was in Tunisia, and now, after a long artistic career, I am also honored in Tunisia.
* Did I get another honor from the Luxor Festival this year?
** The Luxor African Film Festival is important to me because it was born in a difficult time, and it is of great importance, because it connects us to the African continent and the honor motivates the artist to continue providing good works, and it has the strength willingness to reject the works that damage your story.
* What did the Tunisian Minister of Culture tell you at the time of the award ceremony?
** What he said gave me a lot of positive energy, as he told me: “When we find your name on a job, we are confident that it is an important job and that you will play a different role in it”, emphasizing that I have a large audience in Tunisia and that she is one of my biggest fans, and I was very happy to speak, which put a lot of responsibility on me.
Who will you dedicate this honor to?
* I dedicate it to the Egyptian state, because the coronation at the end is for an Egyptian artist, which is an added milestone to Egypt and demonstrates the importance of making art, as I dedicate it to all my colleagues in front of and behind the camera. taking of artists and technicians, and to all those who helped make the name Hala Sedky. The irony is that the first recognition I received was also from Tunisia, and it came after the “Arabesque” series aired after it gained huge popularity there, and my first TV interview was with the famous Tunisian broadcaster Najib Al-Khattab, and held a great party for me that I will not forget.

** It is not I who am absent, but cinema is absent from important directors, writers and great artists.Yes, young people are in my eyes and in my head, but adults must be present to achieve balance, and the cinema returns its position. Is it reasonable that only 4 films were shown during the last Eid al-Adha? Is it reasonable not to participate in the Egyptian films of the Carthage Festival?
An entire industry is disappearing and great artistic talents are absent instead of using their skills. Is it reasonable, after all I have presented, that I accept trivial acts and ruin my story?
A true artist is subjected to terrible psychological pressure when forced to reject weak works, especially if art is his only source of income. For me, being away from the cinema is difficult and I hope to return with illustrious films that continue the journey.
* What is the reason for your non-participation in cinematographic works?
** I do not measure my film participation by quantity, but by quality.Although I am one of the artists of my generation who has not focused much on cinema, the films I have participated in have left a clear imprint in cinema, such as Escape , or Dunya, my Grammy, and Heart of the Night, which is chaos, is business, I am proud to present it.
* Have you attended the Carthage Festival?
** I attended the opening ceremony, but unfortunately I was unable to attend the festival in its entirety, as I had to go back to Cairo again, as I was busy shooting the “Al-Omda” series with director Mohamed Sami. I filmed a day before traveling to attend my honor in Tunisia, where I played the role of a popular woman, and played by Zina, Mai Kassab and a large number of artists, and I am optimistic about working with director Mohamed Sami, because he is one of the directors who loves the actor, and I have already worked with The artist, Mohamed Ramadan, he is a beautiful and collaborative artist.
* How were your preparations for the role of the popular lady in “The Mayor”?
** I try to experience the vibe of the character in a different way, as I listen to a lot of popular songs in preparation for the shoot, which helped me when I got into the decor to get ready to experience the vibe in style. because the role is not limited to just reading or memorizing the role and the rehearsals before the shoot. The character before the shoot is very important to me and I have a way of living with all the characters that I have presented in this way.
