Before the group stage of the Champions League, there were doubts whether Sébastien Haller could handle the level. Now, two and a half months later, Haller is the top scorer of the Champions League along with Robert Lewandowski.
Against Besiktas the striker scored his eighth and ninth goal last Wednesday.
“Haller is one of the top strikers in Europe”, was the statement this week in Studio Football. Varying reactions at the table. “He is a good striker for Ajax, but I don’t see him in the starting lineup at Manchester City, Real Madrid or FC Barcelona,” says Theo Janssen.
“Agree that he is not a European top”, says Rafael van der Vaart. “But against Dortmund he was really, really good. I never expected it, but somehow it makes sense. He’s doing great.” Van Hooijdonk: “He should be a little faster.”
