Good news for people who make an embarrassing typo, send a message to the wrong person or react a bit too enthusiastically to a message from their date. With iOS 16, the new software update for iPhones, later this year it will be possible to edit and even undo messages you’ve sent.
With the new application, Apple surpasses Twitter, which also plays with the idea of introducing an edit button. The demand for a post-editing feature has been high, and some iPhone users have been thrilled.
Note: only messages sent via iMessage can be edited and deleted. For messages on other chat apps or with non-iPhone users, it is still advisable to communicate with common sense. You can no longer change or retrieve your sent messages after fifteen minutes. And the function only works if the people you send a message to also have iOS16 on their iPhone.
Other Features
In addition to the new features of iMessage, Apple also introduced a lot of other changes at the Worldwide Developer Conference. For example, the iPhone’s lock screen gets a completely new look and there are more options for your notifications. For example, live notifications of, for example, a sports session will automatically remain on the screen. It will also be easier to share your photos with your family and with Apple Pay you can now pay in installments. Apple Maps will be expanded in our region and will receive more details and the fitness app will also receive an update.
The new MacBook Air and the watchOS 9 operating system were also presented at the press conference.
