Comparisons and tests continue between the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, since the launch of the first phone to catch up with the second in the competitive series over the past years between the leading Samsung phones and the iPhone from Apple.
The majority of tests tend to measure the superiority of either of the two phones with regard to specifications, perhaps in performance and other comparisons in camera quality and other comparisons related to the two phones in terms of use, but in a topic now a test appears to measure the endurance of the iPhone 14 Pro Max against the Galaxy S23 Ultra .
Test source is a channel PhoneBuff On YouTube, which published a recent video clip of a drop test between the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the Galaxy S23 Ultra, which was equipped with the latest generation of Gorilla Glass protection layer, as confirmed by Samsung itself.
On the other hand, Apple emphasizes the continued reliance on the iPhone industry from durable ceramic material.
Before the start of the test, the channel mentioned that the iPhone 14 Pro Max has some advantages in terms of toughness, as the outer frame is stainless steel and flat edges, compared to the rounded edges of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with an aluminum frame.
However, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features the latest and greatest from scratch-resistant glass maker Corning, dubbed Gorilla Glass Victus 2nd Generation, on both the front and back of the phone.
It is also noted that the iPhone 14 Pro Max comes with scratch and impact protection on the front and back glass using dual ion exchange glass.
As shown in the video, the test was divided into 4 stages, the first was related to testing the back of the phone, and preference went to the Galaxy S23 Ultra by obtaining a rating of 10 compared to 7 for the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The flagship Apple phone got the preference in the second and third stage, the second was to test the durability of the edges, and certainly this is due to the use of a steel metal frame, while the Samsung phone was affected a lot.
The third testing phase was for the interface, and superiority was in favor of the iPhone 14 as previously mentioned, but it should be noted that the interface functions in both phones were treated efficiently.
In the fourth testing phase, the Galaxy S23 clearly regained the advantage, especially with regard to the hardness and durability of the back of the phone.
