The MP of SYRIZA – PS and Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of K.O., Yota Poulos submitted to the Presidium of the Parliament a report to the Minister of Labor and Social Security Domna Michailidou, with which she communicated to her the announcement of the Federation of Employees of the Chemical Industry of Greece (OEXBE) regarding with the ongoing struggle of the workers at MORNOS SA. for the signing of a new business S.S.E. which will satisfy their demands which are just and necessary for their working dignity.
Workers should have substantial increases in their wages, expansion of institutional rights, measurable improvement in working conditions and a dividend from increased productive activity.
The management of the company must enter into a dialogue with the workers, without methods of undermining their labor mobilizations.
And, above all, the Labor Inspectorate must intervene immediately and take a clear position on the issue, supporting the well-founded and reasonable claims of the workers. In times of extreme flexibility of labor relations, the competent state agency should not “wash its hands”. Due to its institutional mission, it is not entitled to evade the protection of trade union freedoms.
The minister is called upon to act immediately.
