During the WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) in early June, Apple unveiled upcoming iOS 15. Among the news are more advanced FaceTime, redesign of Safari, a new focus feature and “shared with you” for iMessage users.
At the same time, there are also a number of iOS apps that are updated with new features.
However, some of the announced iOS 15 news will not be available when Apple launches the rollout this fall. It reports the site 9to5Mac which writes that Apple cuts features – either because they do not work properly or because they need further work before launch.
Apple will launch this this fall
SharePlay
One of the biggest news that will not be seen in iOS 15 when the operating system is most likely to be launched in September, is SharePlay. SharePlay lets you share your mobile screen, songs, and videos with one another in a FaceTime call, but in the latest iOS 15 beta, the feature has been removed.
Apple itself has confirmed that SharePlay has been disabled in beta 6 of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15 and macOS Monterey, and that the feature will not be available when the mentioned operating systems are launched this fall.
One of the announced news items that will probably not be available from day one is Universal Control.
Universal Control
According to Bloomberg it seems that Universal Control is also exposed. The website writes that after two months with iOS / iPadOS 15 and macOS betas, one has not seen the whiff of the exciting news.
– This means that it is most likely exposed, Bloomberg writes.
With Universal Control, Mac users can control other Macs, but also the iPad by using only the mouse and keyboard on the main computer.
All you have to do, for example, is place an iPad right next to your Mac, and then you can just move the mouse pointer over to the iPad screen and operate it directly with the keyboard and mouse / trackpad on the Mac. You can also drag and drop files directly between the devices, and up to three simultaneous devices are supported.
The same website writes that other news that is probably not ready when iOS 15 launches is a feature to pass on your data to a family member when you die and new ways to see what kind of data third-party apps collect.
These two features will probably come at a later occasion.
