iOS 15 beta 4 can automatically remove lens flare from photos

It’s been two months since Apple launched iOS 15, and there’s still a lot to know about the upcoming iPhone operating system. according to Reddit users, Beta 4 can automatically remove lens flare during photo post-processing.

This discovery was shared by the developer of the popular camera app halida on Twitter, and as you can see in the image below, the photo was taken on a grass field with the sun rising. Those who like to photograph landscapes usually have little reflection in situations like this.

The best part is that a Reddit user only noticed that there was a lens flare when using the Live Photo feature and then discovered that there was a small lens flare on the left side of the image.

According to another Reddit user, they can confirm that the iPhone XS, iPhone 11, and iPhone 12 can process and remove lens flare from photos. It’s still unclear whether older iPhones can do the same, as many features of iOS 15 are exclusive to phones with the A12 Bionic or later.

With this feature, it’s nice to see that Apple can further improve the iPhone camera while maintaining photo realism.

With iOS 15, Apple brings a lot of attention to the camera features in FaceTime. Video portrait mode (blurred background) and sound isolation microphone settings are the main features of the upcoming iPhone operating system.

In Video Effects, during a FaceTime call, Portrait mode can be activated. It isolates your face and body and applies a background blur effect to everything else in the frame, like taking portrait photos in the main Camera app.

There’s also a new Live Text feature that allows users to copy text, phone numbers, and addresses into photos taken, while you’re away. can find more about it here.
