Recently, Lee Hwa-young, the wife of former vice-governor of peace in Gyeonggi-do, has sharply confronted the prosecution, saying that the prosecution is using conciliation and threats in the process of investigating her husband who was arrested.

Lee Hwa-young, former vice-governor of peace in Gyeonggi-do, served as an outside director at Ssangbangwool Group in 2017 and 2018 before being appointed as deputy governor.
As a result of the prosecution tracking the flow of funds in the former vice-governor’s account around this time, it was confirmed that some funds flowed to his wife, Mo Baek.
Prosecutors found funds of uncertain origin, including at least hundreds of millions of won, in the account of Baek, a housewife with no fixed income.
Prosecutors believe that Baek may have hidden the money that her husband, an economic community, received from Ssangbangwool or someone else.
The investigation team also suspects that Mr. Baek was also involved in the process of leaking official documents from the Gyeonggi Provincial Office to the Democratic Party.
The prosecution’s view is that when the prosecution’s investigation began, his wife Baek asked her husband’s aide, Shin Mo, former director of the Peace and Cooperation Bureau of Gyeonggi-do, to remove the data on Gyeonggi-do’s North Korea project in 2019.
The prosecution formally booked Mr. Baek, who was a witness, as a suspect in June, and notified him to appear six times in total.
Mr. Baek is refusing to respond to the prosecution’s request for health reasons, such as knee surgery.
At the same time, the prosecution has been leading an off-the-counter public opinion campaign, claiming that the prosecution is forcing her husband to make false statements about Lee Jae-myung in exchange for his release.

The prosecution is in the position that a direct investigation into Mr. Baek is absolutely necessary.
Mr. Baek protested, saying, “The money in the account is money without problems, such as installment savings and insurance money, and I have sufficiently explained the data leak over the phone.”
