New button on the keyboard
The new button is related to the revolution that is taking place before our eyes. It is, of course, about the use of artificial intelligence, which is becoming an indispensable element of almost all the equipment we use. This also applies to computers running Windows 11.
That’s why Microsoft is introducing a new button that will become a permanent feature of all new Windows 11 computers. For obvious reasons, this applies primarily to laptops. The key will be responsible for calling Copilot, i.e. artificial intelligence embedded in the operating system of the Redmond company.
The introduction of the Copilot key marks the first significant change to the Windows PC keyboard in almost three decades. We believe this will enable people to more easily participate in the AI transformation. The Copilot key joins Windows as a core part of your computer keyboard, and when pressed, the new button will invoke the Copilot feature in Windows.

The first computers equipped with the Copliot key will appear at the upcoming CES 2024 in Las Vegas. These are to be available in stores from February this year. They also include new models from the Surface series.
