The American company Sonos has earned a fairly solid reputation in the field of audio technology during its existence. Its speakers are proud not only of high-quality sound delivery and good processing, but also of wireless technology, which the company started promoting before it was fashionable. Now Sonos introduces 8″ ceiling speakers, expanding its successful line of passive architectural speakers.
The eight-inch ceiling speaker will offer top-notch sound
Designed in collaboration with Sonance, the 8″ ceiling speaker features a custom-built enlarged woofer and high-lift motor for smooth mids, deep bass down to 32Hz and a larger listening surface. A 30mm tweeter with a newly optimized waveguide is designed to deliver natural-sounding vocals and better high-frequency dispersion for wide, even coverage. Although the 8″ ceiling speaker is larger than the 6″, the covering magnetic grille remains the same, which should ensure that both models can be used together in the same space without problems.

The addition of an 8″ ceiling speaker gives professional installers and customers the freedom and flexibility to choose a design and sound that perfectly fits their space.”

Like all Sonos Architectural speakers, these new 8″ ceiling speakers will benefit from Sonos’ rich ecosystem, including an easy-to-use and intuitive app that works with most popular streaming services, supports control via Apple AirPlay 2, and lets you add other brand speakers and components. Trueplay tuning can then be used in combination with Sonos Amp. Eight-inch Sonos ceiling speakers will be available in spring 2024 at a price of CZK 26,990/pair. It will definitely not be a cheap affair.
