Introducing Asus’ Back to the Future (BTF) Initiative: Components Without Pesky Wires

If you want to keep the inside of your PC tidy, you know where to look. Aesthetic purists will be delighted.

The inside of a PC can sometimes be a ready-made cable hell, especially for people who are squeamish and don’t have a PC as a lighted showcase for fooling others. However, with the more aesthetically oriented ones, the most difficult part is not to assemble and operate the machine, but to arrange the cursed wiring. And for such, Asus recently announced the “Back to the Future (BTF)” initiative, where it wants to create components without the need for those pesky wires.

A graphics and motherboard combo is now on sale in China – a combo because the special RTX 4070 version does not have a classic power connector, but an extra power interface (HPCE) right behind the PCIe 16x interface. It naturally follows that the motherboard must be adapted for this in order to feed the graphics. So you can buy graphics and board combo, possibly with a compatible case. The case is also equipped to hide cables, since the motherboard has power on the back. And to clarify, it is a board with a B760 chipset and all three components are tuned in anime style (at least according to the presentation). A complete set would cost you $1,141. However, it is not clear when and if the BTF series will reach other parts of the world. Maybe a new standard is being born here?
